Our Story

Our founder and Company Director Richard Lander has been creating, building and working with sweepers since 1994. In addition to running our company he can still be seen behind the wheel of one of our vehicles as well as maintaining our vehicles to the highest standards. His passion for modern and efficient vehicles combined with his years of knowledge and experience mean he is pivotal to both the reputation and the hardworking ethos of our business.

Richard’s knowledge and enthusiasm for building efficient and modern Road Sweepers date back to 1994, when alongside Jeff Stock (from Stock Sweepers Ltd) they formed Landstock Sweepers. At this time, they had the ingenious idea of adding a hand lance to every lorry which established Landstock as a forerunner of this technology. This led to Richard and Jeff developing and implementing one of the earliest jet vac sweepers in the UK. You can still find the two of them discussing the latest technology and innovations, their mutual interest and respect continues to this day.

R J Lander Limited was established in 1996 and our ethos is as strong today as the day we were,
formed.

In 2018 Richard purchased The Wilderness Quarry and has over the last couple of years developed
this space into our new yard to house R J Lander Limited as well as creating offices and industrial units for rental and storage.

Most of our long-standing clients know our Office Manager Fiona, who has been with the company since 2004, always available at the end of the phone with friendly and knowledgeable advice.

We take great pleasure in ensuring that our service is always first class. Our dedicated and hard-working team are not only friendly but knowledgeable and professional, we love that our customers know we will go the extra mile for them. Quite simply we are proud of the relationships we have built.

Our V65t road sweepers are maintained to the highest level and fitted with a range of extras to ensure that we meet all your requirements for exceptional cleaning.

Our team of dedicated operators are all fully certified to NVQ level 2 and all comply with the new CSCS requirements. To keep everyone up to date we also provide intensive training courses and ensure all our operatives are environmentally conscious and meet the expectations of the Environment Agency, making sure that safe working practices are upheld. Many of our operatives have been with us for years meaning that our customers not only know, but also know they can rely on our team.

Because we know that our black beam sweepers are so much more than just sweepers, our highly skilled operatives always have a mechanical knowledge in how to get the best out of our vehicles, to ensure that the work carried out is at the highest level.
